Angelo Ruggiero was a prominent member of the Gambino crime family in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s. He was known as "Quack Quack" or "Angie" and was a close associate of mob boss John Gotti. Ruggiero was involved in various criminal activities, including loan sharking, extortion, and drug trafficking.
Ruggiero's downfall came when he became the target of an FBI investigation that ultimately led to his arrest on charges of racketeering and drug trafficking. He was eventually convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison, although he was released early due to health issues.
Ruggiero's life and criminal activities were depicted in the HBO television series "The Sopranos," where he was portrayed by actor Joe Penny. He was also portrayed in the film "Gotti," where he was played by actor Stacy Keach. Ruggiero died in 1989 from cancer at the age of 49.
